Launched before sun came up and got no takers on tops. Moved around and ended up catching 4 throwbacks, all on wacky rig, all in different spots! Bud caught a real solid one right at the end on what he said was his "last" cast of the day

It seems the last couple of weeks has been a search mission. One fish per location. Cant find anything stacked up right now. Where you find them one day, the next day they are gone.

I think a lot of the tourney guys catch them like this, 1 here, 1 there for the most part, very seldom have I ever caught more than 4-5 in in spot. Lot of other lakes we found spots where they were stacked for hundreds of yards along similar structure.

With the news of the new gates, I really hope in 18 months or so the level is brought back up to 44 at some point, would put a lot more structure ( that is left) in the water and improve fishing. But I know fishing is a low priority to COH and TPW for that matter for L Houston.

The “new gates” will take 36 months. I guess that sounds less than 3 years...
So, after they do whatever they are supposedly doing now that completes in October of 2020, they will start the gates.
That adds up to over 4 years. Unless I am missing something...

OKDEN, I know you live on the lake from your posts ( think i figured out which house) and you know those lake pool levels have changed over the years too. 44 is what it needs to be IMO, its just too low now. would that put water over your dock?

Great question!
I think the new 42 is the old 44.
Maybe about 6” (42’6”=Old 44)
So, yes, I think it would.
I have the lowest dock off the water.
When my neighbors built their docks, after mine, they used my dock as a benchmark and adjusted accordingly.
Theirs are higher off the water, a bit wider and have higher ceilings so they can raise their boats higher...

I thought a study was done on this almost sure I saw a # but dont want to put out bad info.
