MY FLAVORFUL PINTO BEANS..
.
2 teaspoons chili powder

1 teaspoon cumino

1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika

1/4 teaspoon cayenne

2 cloves Garlic crushed (or to taste)

1 small onion diced

1 ea Bell pepper diced

2 ea bay leaves

2 teaspoons chicken bullion power ( I use the Knorr)

2 1/2 cups dried pinto beans

5 cups water or enough to bring water level 2 inches above beans.

Directions: soak beans overnight covered with water in a bowl.
Next morning scoop beans up between both hands under water rub beans together
to get dirt off of beans. drain in colander wash twice more to get clean.
put clean beans into cooking pot cover with water bring beans to a simmer.
remove scum from water just before it boils. once scum is off turn heat down
to a fine simmer add all other ingredients. simmer for 30 minutes . turn fire off
let the beans sit steaming for several hours . about 1 hour before you want to eat
bring the beans to a simmer , simmer for 1 hour. take a few beans out and mash them
add back to pot to thicken beans. at this time check for tenderness if beans are still
a little bitter they only need to cook a bit more. enjoy

Funny how people want to add to a recipe before even trying it
you add things it wont be the same flavor .
