Did some boating this afternoon. Went a ways into the bayou and did not see one boat. Decided to try the route from west fork to 59. For those who have never been there, here are a couple of pics. They are getting ready to shut southbound lanes down.

Sk, about 10 minutes from sharkeys. Mariners beware....a few very shallow spots. Either go on plane or dead slow

Thanks WM, I've never ventured up the west fork all the years I've fished that lake....
Definitely good advise taking it slow....

A couple weeks ago we had the yaks in Moonshine off the west fork. Water was in good shape compared to what I was hearing about Luce and the East Fork. This was before the last big rain as that changed everything. Two bass boats showed up in there...I didnt think you could get in from the river anymore. They were fishing some bass tournament per a conversation with one of the guys who jumped right in front of me on the bank I was fishing down. I moved to my next spot and the other boat came in and jumped in front of me...caught 3 fish in my face. I had to move three times just to fish fresh water. Dang...I went there to avoid boat traffic. Anyway...fish were on the wall starting at the second point, on the pine bluff and in the back on the north bank by the pier pilings.

Were the bass boats aluminum or fiberglass that were in there?

I did not think the could get in there anymore either, big sandbar at the mouth. I would have MF'ed them for sure and likely casted a super spook at that boat for a bit. Unacceptable.

OP, could you get into Spring Creek, I could not last time I tried.

Im sure I know one of the boats for sure. No it wasn't me . There have been some close calls in that cut? Very narrow running in there. Have never brought my boat in there but I know there are some good fish in there. Be careful in that YAK man. I cringe thinking what would happen if some one was paddling in or out and a Bass Rig came running through there. Should be a no wake buoy at entrance for sure. I know that would keep almost everyone out with a bigger rig.
