Those whopper ploppers look like smaller versions of the giant Bucher plugs I've seen up north for muskies that have been around for ages...

I was in Michigan this summer, and tried one. I caught a fish on the first cast, but no more that day. I tried it the next day, and again I caught a bass on the first cast, but no more on that bait. It was almost like all the fish learned from the mistake made by the first fish. I haven't tried it in Texas yet.
