What are the safest areas to launch and has there been any kind of theft at lake houston? Everyone I have met so far are very humble and this is the reason why I go to lake houston above other lakes. I wanted to know where I could launch a jon boat (I finally got one!) and feel safe and secure. Thanks for the help!

Ponderosa the ramp is in a narrow creek that is protected from strong wind and high waves.

take 2100 north of Huffman turn left at the light of wolf rd.

Ramp on the right at the bridge.

or with a flat bottom you could launch at BJs marina the ramp is to shallow to launch a big boat.

What time does ponderosa open? I am a very early fisherman. I tried to call but no numbers were working and i tried calling BJ's that's right across but no one picked up. What's the earliest you have went?

I'll be leaving the house at 5 am and get there at 540 ish

there is no marina at ponderosa just a good boat ramp and a pay box in front of the

tree in front of the ramp a light switch for the light on the pole . can launch anytime.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

also at bjs marina they have a store with a slit in the door and envelops

put you launch fee in the envelop with your car license number and name on

it drop in slot in door launch i think they open at daylight . or knock on the door they may be there
