Anyone outthere know how to change the oil on a 60 horse mercury 4stroke outboard?(Lowerer unit also)The break-in period is through and the dealer wants 300.00 bucks to do it. If someone is outthere who could show me how and maybe walk me throught it they would have a friend for life.

on the side of your lower unit you will see two flat head screws one just
under the fin then another at the bottom of the lower unit on the same side

and it may have oil written on the body next to the screw. pull the bottom screw to drain it then pull the top screw that is a vent.

after all the oil drains out then fill it from the bottom screw hole till it runs out of the top screw hole then put top screw in then bottom screw in.
check to make sure that the oil screw gaskets are ok. They are little nylon type "O" rings one on each screw.

you can buy a little lower unit oil pump change kit at academy.

Here click on this you tube site and if will show you pictures of it
