Thank you, sir! From everything I gathered it was the best bang for the buck. I was a bit apprehensive but I'm confident with the decision. I really appreciate everyone's input.

I am a Lowrance guy myself and I have run SI on the trolling motor and the console. It has been my experience the SI is a really good search tool no matter the brand. But it is a broad search tool and didn't really care for it when I was using it on the TM, I found it to be of very little value at that location. I no longer have it on the TM and moved it back to the console and utilize marker bouys when I idle past something of interest. Then I can go back over it with the TM DI and see if I like it.

Good info bassman, thanks for the reply. That will be my setup for the time being, si on the console and di on the TM.

Getting there. If it was just a direct swap I would be done but I'm rigging the bow with my old unit as well. I decided to plug and seal the old holes under the water line in my transom and put in a mounting plate (transom saver), I forgot to get a pic of it but here are a few others of the progress so far. I haven't had a day off since I got it in so where I am currently is based on time I've been able to steal in the evenings. The trolling motor is currently on the work bench so the glue can cure. I'm anticipating to be finished with everything by Friday so I can get the transducer angle dialed in. The pics are the old lowrance mount I removed then fished new primary to the front. I had to pull the rod holders to access the conduit. There were a few tricky moments getting the wire down the gunnel and up under the deck and up through the console but after a few interesting pretzel maneuvers I was able to get it pulled and connected.

Thanks, Rocket

LOL, SK...I try to keep her straight.

It got dark on me last night but all I have left is to make a final decision on the ram mount base location. Other than that, she's all wired and mostly tested. The trolling motor is a little snug letting down and picking up due to the cable in the track rubbing but I'm guessing that will work itself out over time. I'll post some final pictures later on, once I get her cleaned up again :D .

took her out to get the level set on the transducer. I did the torpedo level/coin technique at 4mph. I was already pretty close with the blind setup just winging it on the initial install because the images were really clear. I learned quick that i had mounted a little too deep because I was throwing a rooster tail off of it at 20 and the depth readings were all off. Let me just say this; that Mega SI is some next level stuff. Holy crap, if anyone needs a tire I know where a few are just north of 1960. Once I got home I raised the transducer up a bit and set the level. All I need now is to get my lakemaster card but I'm supposed to meet up with SkinnyKennie for that tomorrow.
