SK,

What size units do you run on console and on TM? Thought process behind bigger unit on console or TM? Im looking at buying a 12” to put on dash and use 7” on TM. My thought is I want best image when hunting brush piles, structure, etc cruising and just use the 7” on the TM to ensure Im holding near it after stopping.

Also.....do you run seperate transducers for each (console on translm and TM on TM) or run off the same transducer (both displays reading off transom). My only concern with a TM mounted transducer is I like to bass fish really shallow and have a tendency to really beat the he$$ out of my trolling motor.

Raptor my thinking is get the absolute biggest you can afford for the console, the bigger units really help blow up the stumps & other structure that will be overlooked on the smaller units.
I run a 1199 on the console & at the moment I have my 798 on the TM but will be putting my 998 on the TM this week.
I run separate transducers transom & TM.....
I'd rather have the bigger unit on the console....

you can get a guard that protects the transducer on the troll motor if you worry about
knocking it off.
if you only run a transducer off the back it will be hard to get right on the piles
you will be off 20 feet or how ever long the boat is . so best to have transducer
front and back.

Sticko and SK...thanks for feed back.

Im planning on running transducer forward and aft as suggested but was just looking to see if anybody was doing anything different. Already ordered guards for both of them based on reviews Ive read on the Sea Ark Facebook group I am in.
