Anyone with input on using a solar system to keep your bats charged?
I'm looking into getting a panel & charge controller to keep my batteries up.
What works & what's the best?

Thanks KF.....

Think I'm just gonna have to jump in & make this happen.....don't seem like there's many folks that use solar panels....I done quite a bit of research but just wanted confirmation that what I'm going to do will work....this will be too charge & keep charged the 4 bats I have in my boat...
I'll be charging my 24v for the tm with one 100w solar panel & 30a charge controller & on my other 2 bats I'm gonna make a cable to tie them in series just for charging & use another 100w panel & 30a charge controller for them....
With all the research I've done I'm thinking this will keep them fully charged....

Just as I got every part needed to hook the system up I had a bad car accident, don't feel I can pack the heavy panels up a ladder just yet..... as soon as I get it all hooked up I'll post up pics & my opinion of how the system works.... with the research I've done I'm sure it's gonna work great......

Geeze SK, hope you are ok.
The solar probably wouldn't work too well for a week or so anyway.
Unless you can power it with rain...
Where was the accident?

45 north bound between Willis & Huntsville, I'll be alright just taking time for these ole bones to heal.....
I was thinking while the accident was happening that was tha way I was getting outta this world but I guess it wasn't my time. .
Tacoma's don't battle well with semi's.....

I bought well over sized panels which should still through enough power to charge tha bats I have with no prob in lies light conditions.......

I just don't think any solar charger will be able to keep up with the power draw from a trolling motor. It may or may not even handle a fish finder. Those things now days draw quiet a bit on a battery. if you are running 2 or 3, I would doubt if it would maintain them.
