... are what's been reported to be working right now in Luce Bayou. I made up 6 of each yesterday afternoon with half being weedless (for jigging brush or spidering over brush) and half not weedless (for open water spider rigging).

I was talking to Sticko this morning and he said that he was told that black/trues with a chartreuse head was all they would hit on today. It occurred to me that most all my black/trues jigs had black heads, sometimes with a color stripe down the belly. So.... since I wasn't fishing today, I decided to tie some black/trues jigs on different colored heads with matching color stripes down the belly. I read that they had also been hitting silver/trues with a red head in the last few days. I'll give these a try next Tuesday.

Dutch how much weight in jigs do you reckon you pack in your boat?

You almost tie more jigs than anyone I know including some of the big jig tiers that's been selling for years....

More good lookn combos....

I don't know SK, but I have more than 1,000 jigs in the boat. That's over 10 lbs of just heads.

got to be in the hundreds.

I usually get 300-500 at a time of various sizes and heads. I need to order some about now. I got up this morning about 8:00, ate breakfast and then had my hot tea and a cigar on the patio (covered). Then I went into the house and decided to tie up some light wire jigs in the various head colors like shown in the last photo above. I like light wire jig heads when I'm jigging because if they get hung and I am fishing deeper than the rod length, I can just pull on them and the hook straightens out. Just bend them back and keep fishing. The ones I have are ball heads which I flatten out a little so I can put eyes on them. I am going to order a couple hundred of them with fish heads, as I like them better than ball heads now.

I hope you have plenty of the red body chartreuse tail with no stripes because the

fish are really liking that one .
