went to my son's house on lake conroe. Thought i would take my poles and do

some searching to see if i could locate some of the giant bream they have .

didn't take my boat . just fished the bulk head around his yard and boat docks.

did not find and big bream but did get a few big enough to keep.

but the catfish just eat me up they were thick along the bulk heads right on

the bottom in 6 to 7 feet deep. i was using red wiggler worms trying to catch bream

but every time i dropped to the bottom the catfish would just tear me up

so i had to raise up to only 2 to 3 feet deep to get bream without getting catfish.

so if anyone wants cat fish and are around conroe they are on the bulkheads early

mornings. mot of what i was catching in catfish were about 18 to 20 inches.

Although they weren't your target species I'll bet those slimmers were fun on the long rod...cept having to clean the slime off yer line....

they do usually put slime a couple feet up the line but i guess

in only 6 feet of water i jerked them out to fast for them to slime the line.

there did not seem to be any slime on the line but sure got it on my hands

taking the fish off. and throwing the slimy things back in the water.
