we went to conroe today to catch some sunfish.

we caught about 30 but could not find the bigger redear. ours

are a bout 1/2 the size you have here . But they sure fun to catch on a lite

and limber pole and sure good to eat.

i was telling my wife yesterday that i used to go fishing for bream

and we would stop at a little town on the way and just catch crickets

off the sidewalk early in the morning . we would get enough in a little

while to last a whole day. some of the stores would have rolled up news papers

in front of them and the crickets would crawl up in then some of the papers

would have about a dozen crickets in them. we just had a jon boat with a hand

operated cheap troll motor . we would cast out behind the boat and just troll

along slow and the big redear would just slam those crickets.

we were fishing out of stowaways. yesterday catching them around the bottom of rocks

about 8 to 10 feet deep.

Lil Bluegill have you ever caught any big bream from

lake Houston i know some of them should have came

down the west fork from lake conroe but i have never

caught any really big ones from lake Houston.

i have picked up some decent ones but nothing big.

Rayburn and Toledo have some nice size red breast in them.

Fayette county has big red ear in it.

I've often wondered the same thing, seems they would be here!
Here's a pic of the biggest I've caught, turn this one into cat bait!
