Took a weekend off frim deer hunting a met up with Shadslinger to see if the cold front would stir up a big blue. Fishing with frozen bait we did alright with a couple 10-12 lbrs and some 3-6 lbrs.
We were pulling in rods and drift socks when the last rod in the water slammed down hard.
I got to it as Loy tried to clear the drift socks and ropes. I could tell it was a goodun it was pulling hard straight down , we worked it to the boat and Loy netted him and he jumped out and made another run before we got him netted in the boat. A good 40 inch blue with a 24 inch girth around 30 lbs.
Great way to close a nice day on the water.
