Went with Snapshot to fish with Weldon the guide on Fayette county lake again last Tuesday for channel cats. Woke up sick that morning, but went anyways. It was a slow day of fishing and the bite was so light, you could barely tell when they were on the hook. I think we ended up with 26 nice cats that filled up one big cooler. One fish broke my rod as I was trying to reel it in.
Here's a picture of Weldon about to clean the fish.

Nice box of fish Steve. Looks like you and Ray had a great time. Did you get the one that broke the rod?

Weatherman, yes, I was able to still catch the fish after my pole snapped into. I had the fish about half way reeled in when the pole broke. It was a cheap pole I got from academy so I didn't cry over it too much. I took the braided line in my hand and pulled it up. Before I got it all the way up, the fish took another dive and the line slipped in my hand causing a nice burn. Most of the fish we caught that day were between 4 to 6 pounds. It was hard to believe that such big channel cats could bite so lightly.
On our last stop, we tied up to a cedar tree. While we fished, we saw two guys near us catching bass one right after another. They were tied up to a tree and using plastic worms. I've never seen anyone catch so many bass and never move from one spot.
