The Dockline Challenge Fishing Tournament

Frequently Asked Questions

When will the events be held?

The tournament will be held on March 24, 2012. There will be (2) Divisions including a Bass Division and a Kids Division.

What will be the official fishing times?
Kids Division: 8am -11am

There will be several fishing stations set up around Lake Houston to allow children of all ages to come out and enjoy.

Kids will be fishing for all species of fish including:

Perch, Crappie, Bass, Catfish and so on.

After catching, kids will be able to measure, weigh and take pictures with their catch. Prizes will be given at each location for:

(Biggest Catfish and so on…) Top Winners will be invited out to Duessen park where we will combine results for Overall winners and special prizes.

Where will the fishing stations be located?
For the “Take a Kid Fishing” day, we will have fishing locations around Lake Houston that will include:

■Atascocita Shores
■Walden on Lake Houston
■Kingwood Boat Docks
■Indian Shores
■Cedar Landing
■Deussen Park
Do I need my own supplies?

For those who need, fishing poles, tackle and bait will all be provided by Lake Houston Sports and Recreation Foundation and its sponsors at each fishing station.

What is the entry fee for children and families?
Entry is set at $5.00 per child.

Bass Fishing Division:

Team Entry: $100.00 per boat
Big Bass Side-Pot: $50 per boat (Optional)
Calcutta Pool Side-Pot: $150 per Boat (Optional)

• Side-Pots for Big-Bass and Calcutta Pool only pay “Top 3” in each category.

o 1st Place: 50% of Big Bass/Calcutta Pool
o 2nd Place: 30% of Big Bass/Calcutta Pool
o 3rd Place: 20% of Big Bass/Calcutta Pool


Entry Includes:

• Door Prize Eligibility
• Food, Drinks, Beverages & Entertainment at Check-in
o March 23rd at Cedar Landing from 4pm-7pm


March 24th Tournament Details:

Fishing Times: 7am-3:30pm **Please note time change (March 10th time change)

• Must be checked-in by 3:30 to weigh fish
• Must be in weigh-in line by 4pm sharp.

Fishermen’s Meal following weigh-in

• Awards and Door Prizes following meal.
