I've got a new 22 footer on order and I am looking for a secure place to store it. In Kingwood would be preferable as I can launch out of River Grove Park but really I'm looking for something with individual covered stalls and walls with good security even if it means driving to Atascocita or Huffman.

Where do yall keep yours and what does it cost you?

Found Lake Houston Marina's Facebook Page but its a little sparse on details.
Does Lake Houston Marina have individual covered stalls?
What does Lake Houston Marina storage cost?

Thanks in advance,
Raptor

LH does not have any boat storage.
I don't know of any on the lake.
May be a place on Smith Road in Huffman that stores RV's and boats on trailers.
I think it is out doors.
I am unsure of the name tho.
I keep mine in my boat dock.

My neighbor kept his 21' Nautical Star in an enclosed unit at Foley Rd storage down 2100. No idea on availability, but it's an easy shot down 2100 from Lake Houston Marina.

Raptor, go to this link. It's in Kingwood, has top notch security, but I don't know the monthly rates. The have RV and separate boat storage.

Gents,

Thanks for all the feeback.

Sticko,
I plan to call LHM tomorrow. This would probably be my preferred place as I could launch right where boat is stored. I had not found JTBLW in my searching so Ill check that out as well unfortunately they don't have rates or pics posted online.

Yacknewby,
Yeah I had seen Metrostorage. Looks pretty fancy and I bet has a rate to match. Ill let you know when I talk to them tomorrow what the rates are. As to Affordable Storage that was my first choice as it is the closest to me. Their rates are also pretty reasonable. Unfortunately when I called them they got a pretty long waiting list.

PBR,
Thanks for offer on house storage. I thing Ill ding it up a few times myself and then we can discuss hahaha. :D Yeah Goodtimes is a little far for me but I didn't know ramp was there so good knowledge to have. Thanks.

Anybody used Kingwood Boat RV Storage? Its off 59 between Northpark and Porter. Reasonable rate, enclosed stalls, and care taker on site 24/7. $1,000 for 12' x 36' and $600 for 12' x 26'. I don't have full length of boat and trailer yet but I'm guessing the 26' stall is going to be VERY tight (no swing away tongue).

Spent some significant time today hunting a good storage place and this is what I found in total. Note that I am looking for a 12' x 30' unit as the boat and trailer are going to be just over 26'.

Lake Houston Marina
Covered and walled 12' x 25' units - $75 per month
Has availability
No units longer than 25' on premises

JBTLW Storage - FM2100 north of Huffman
Has some covered and walled 12' x 25' units Available - Did not inquire on price
Has 12' x 30' Units - $80 per month - I'm first on waiting list

Texan Storage - Northpark Drive
Has some smaller units - Did not inquire on price
Has 12' x 35' Units - $175 per month - None available in Kingwood but some are available on FM1314 @ Grand Parkway

Texan Boat & RV Storage (Kingwood Boat RV Storage) - Off FM494 between Northpark & Porter
Has 12' x 36' Units - $1000 per year
No availability and waiting lists so long no point in getting on it

Metro Self Storage - Kingwood Drive @ FM494
Contrary to website largest available is 12' x 20' and is only covered.

Looks like the best deal there, only issue is the waiting list. Guessing it could be a month to several months before get one. Just asking why not keeping it at your place or maybe buying one of those prefabbed car ports? I know not everyone has the room or depending where live can but just a thought.

Would love to keep it at the house but the Kingwood HOA already sends me these beautiful "love notes" :P every time I park my tandem axle utility trailer in the yard when working on house. I'm looking at extending my garage to fit it but that will be long term solution.

Boat wont be delivered until first of year so I got a couple months to wait on something to open up.

What really surprised me was the number of storage places in this area that are nearly impossible or completely impossible to find on Google. I saw a bunch of others just driving around, that I never noticed before, and had to pull up and find out what they have as they simply were not on the internet. I guess this proves word of mouth is still alive and well hahaha!

You don't want to store your boat at Texan Storage on 1314.

We store our RV there and it is graded dirt, not gravel or concrete, between the units. Half an inch of rain and you have half a foot of mud down the middle of the lane. Unless you're okay with your boat getting a nice mudbath from the clods flying up off your tires, I'd stay away.
