Found this little guy sunning himself in the creek that runs through my neighborhood. He was about 2 feet long and perfectly calm with me around. Best I can guess from a little poking around is that he might be a Black Caiman and probably started out as a pet of someone's. Question, should I notify TPWD of my find?

That was my first thought too because there is a nest and a slide a little further up the creek from here that was active before Harvey came through. But this guy's head was narrower than those baby alligators and his nostrils came straight up off the tip of his snout...

He just looked weird compared to my little friends that were there before.
