Lake Houston Fishing!

A buddy of mine found on the tpwd website a lake houston general census type of report from 2014. After looking at it i recalled some of the posts in the white bass section that reflected my sentiments of...where are the white bass. Seems that over the years the wb have tapered off noticeably. The report seems to point the finger at a gravel mine operation up the east fork...(i think there are a couple of them) leaving me with the impression that the byproduct of silt being stirred up is part of the problem. My question is, (if this is still relevant) what can we do as sportfishermen to make an impact to produce a change in their operation to support a better lake houston ecosystem? I read an article a while back about this that said they were destroying so much of the bank in places and the mud was going into the water flowing downstream. It gave an estimation of how many cubic yards of dirt might be going into the lake on a monthly basis...don't remember the specifics.
This is nothing compared to the dredging project that is supposed to begin 2020 and will start in the west fork and head south towards the dam.

That dredging project is going to be a nightmare... WM, do you know what they are going to do with all the mud they dredge up?

The mud will be sucked up and put onto barges which will be offloaded at the bank onto dump trucks. Where they go from there, I haven't a clue.

"They" don't give a ratz azz about fishing in Lake Houston.
If "they" did, they would not be tieing into the Trinity River....

I can't believe they want to drink the water can't clean it that good.
