See page 3 of this thread to see the underwater images of these vehicles. I just happened across the scene in the video you linked to and was just off screen around the bend watching.

With as detailed the pics are on the lowrance hds units if I could afford them that's what I'd go with.
The units LP has on his boat he pics up all the structure & has them set correctly to draw very good pics.

Guess I'll add some SS here, might be a good idea to make a board dedicated to screen shots????
This thing is gonna take up a lot of my fishing time.
1st pic look sorta like milk crates?
2nd pic not surewhat it is but it held a lotta fish the year of the drought, not much now since the water level is back up.
3rd & 4th picis of the same thing, sortas look like a boat & trailer not sure.
5th pic is a brush pile.

SK, your first picture is of a bunch of nests. I'll show the same ones closer in a little bit.

The second picture is a large brush pile, mostly to the left of the boat. The dark part to the left is the radar shadow of it. Being right on a good drop, it should be a dandy spot for crappie. Don't know what that is in the 3rd and 4th.

Now let me show some of mine from the last trip out to the south end. Top left is down imaging, bottom left is normal sonar, right is side scan.

This one shows a little under the boat but the sonar and the down scan miss the big downed tree to the right.
Image

This one shows scattered brush (not a pile) but clearly shows large arches in the sonar shot as arches.

Image

This one shows limbs, but no fish.

Image

Standing timber and fish arches in the sonar.

Image

Don't see much structure other than the drop off, but sonar shows fish arches.

Image

SK, these are the same things on the bottom that you said might be milk cartons. They are round fish nests I think.

Image

Down inaging and radar, see no fish arches. "the" pile.

Image

I am still not an expert, but I gave my best guess on each. Note that side scan and down imaging are narrow fans of sonar out and down. Therefore you will not see fish "arches" on them. The sonar is a cone shape in all directions down and this will generate fish arches.

Dutch,
If those are snapshots you took on the south end, why do they say they are simulation?

Don Diego is right!! I had some trouble with the video card in the Humminbird so I replaced it with a new one. I made a video recording of the simulation built in to the unit to test the card, even saving some screen shots of it. It was after that that I went out and did a little bit of south side recording. I guess when I went in later looking for some interesting screen shots to post, I went backwards from the last one searching. Obviously I got into the simulation shots and didn't notice. I'll leave them in the post, as they illustrate a point, but I'll erase them from my computer and SK card in the HB. Sorry 'bout that folks... P.S. the last two posts are real from the south end.

Hey Dutch someone put something on my mind about what I was calling milk crates & you called beds, it very possible that's a old tire dump. The more I look at them that's what I think they are! :?:

at one time the parks and wildlife had put some tire reefs out on the

south end and they were marked at the time but the markings have

since been blown away. so that could be.

OK, went out today and side scanned Solarbees on the south end. One thing I did was to turn off the noise filter and I was surprised at what I saw. I'll see if I can upload some with comments. The side scan was set to show only the right side because that was the side of the boat next to the Solarbees.

Look at the column in the middle. The really bright marks are good fish. Most of the rest arte smaller fish and shad. The line is the solar bee column

Image

The "tornado" looking thing is the tube of one of the S-bees. Again note the bright larger fish in the cloud to the right.
Image

The interesting thing in this picture is the absence of the "cloud" of shad in a lot of the screen. That tells me that what is shown is real.
Image

I just thought that this was an interesting cloud of shad. It shows up on the down scan top left also. I am finding that side scan seems to be more sensitive than down scan for some reason. May just be my parameter settings.
Image

A different SolarBee. Shows the unit column and a bunch of nice fish in the bait cloud.
Image

Note the bright returns in just one part of the bait cloud.
Image

That's enough.

Is that bait fish or air bubbles from the solarbee
