We started off in some pads but they were not biting it real good, slapping at it. I think they are chock full of shad that have been spawning for a few weeks now. We got our 5th keeper at 232, caught shorts all day, likely over 15 fish caught but all small. It got pretty hot around lunch and hardly any wind, but hey we tried@!

Man we threw our little fish back and went to DQ. Not a great Tourney Year for me this year. They seem to bite well enough when I fun fish.. Got a check I think 8/10 tourneys last year in club. Hoped to do better this year just hasn't materialized as planned. Why would it

Yeah, well I have some theories. Lake Houston is basically a community fishing hole. A lot of us fish the same spots but throw different stuff. Timing has a lot to do with it for me. Need to be more consistent in the morning.

I agree with your statement UCBM, How many people work the same spots up and down luces from start to finish in every tourney? I cant stand going up there but we seem to get 1 or two here and there always. I think its a lot to do with the fish seeing something different, and major/minor feeding times too. Seems like there is a ton of dead water to me though. Its not a bass factory by any stretch of the means. I hope we can get some more wire cages and get some reeds growing N of the bridge on those islands, that might re concentrate some fish....maybe!! OR get some grass going , theres none in the lake, and grass is perfect for crawfish populations to explode in. I remember meeting Alton Jones on Fayette before he won the classic, he showed us to rip ratltraps through the grass, stating there were millions of craws in that grass.
