welcome Pbwalls There are some white bass runs at lake Houston.

They are just starting to get into their spawn run anytime now through

probably march. they are off and on right now as the water temps cool and heat

back up . people are getting only about 7 or so a trip that will be getting a lot

better once we get more cold fronts in. There is lake livingston just to our North

that have bigger fish and more fish running in the creeks just off the Trinity river

on the upper end of livingston. Harmon , dillards, chalks creeks .

but for Houston the upper ends of the east fork , up luces bayou and in caney creeks.

I do have a question. Lets say water temp never hits 55 degress but warms every time it gets close to 55 until true spring hits and warms for good..what then happens do the white bass spawn run? Anybody have past years experience? Do they have to wait till next year to run? Ergo so do we? What happens to population level if they fail to spwan? Is it rough fishing 3 years later?

Also within a short drive of Houston is Lake Somerville which has a really good white bass run if you can get there at the right time. Plus the added bonus is there are tons of largemouths and crappie to be caught in the creeks in and around the same holes that white bass hold in. So there are a lot of opportunities to catch fish.

Which river/creek would you fish in Ohio?
