You may want to try on up river. I'm talking about way up the east fork or even up caney. The bayou will produce some whites but up river should be better. I hear reports they are starting to catch them in the west fork and on up in spring creek.

I fished luces yesterday. They were biting for me. I caught and released prob 18 males. But I fish north of the golf course on 2100. It's never crowded when I go. But I also have my waders on so I can get where a lot if ppl can't.

We have been catching WB for 3 weeks in the West Fork & spring creek. Went Saturday and caught 2 limits in less than 3 hours, mostly big females. Oh, caught 1 5# hybrid.

You can launch off of Hamblen Rd. Head west under 59 about 1 mile the west fork will come in on your right, go to your left slightly you will be in spring creek. We have been catching some good crappie also, in the deeper holes of spring creek.

Redfish1, do you think the water level is up enough that I could run my 16' deep-V tracker boat up in there?

I run a 21' Fish Master center console w/ 150 without any problem. You can run on plane from the west side of 59 to the pipeline no problem. From the pipeline to Jesse Jones park you need to take it easy. from the pipeline around the bluff bank to JJ park is good fishing.

Redfish1,

Thanks for the info. I've never fished or taken my boat to west river before so I hope you don't mind me asking a few more questions. What do you mean by pipeline? I don't see any above-surface pipeline on Google Map anywhere near 59. However, I do see some power lines before JJ park. Where on Hamblen Rd would be the best place to launch my boat? I am not a resident of Kingwood and don't have the K-sticker for some of the nearby parks.

Thanks

Just curious, is there any good areas to fish LM bass in the Spring creek area? So if I put in at river grove, you are telling me I can run on plane all the way to 59 then after going under the bridge can run again till the pipeline? How far from there to JJ park?

Go east on Hamblen from 59 before you get to the railroad tracks turn right on the dirt road, that will take you to the boat ramp. There is a $5.00 launch fee. The electrical lines and pipeline run on the same easement.
