Went up East Fork last weekend as far jet can get me (~ 1 mile below 1485) checking for downfalls as group of ~ 25 friends paddling down river in a couple weeks. I saw more boats past the log jam fishing for crappie and white bass than I have ever seen. I usually have that stretch to myself. Talk to several and most were picking up a couple random white bass here and there.

Ive been fishing up that way and see boat after boat passing me. Not cold enough for whites yet, tried a few traditional spots already all 8-10 males and lots of them. The crappie I have been getting are there one day and gone the next!!

Sticko,
Everybody I talked to had a few.

Kisndismis,
How far do you usually go up? You idle on your big motor or just use trolling motor?

I have not been going too far past those big pine tree laydowns. I am going this morning for a bit and may try to go a bit further. You can see bottom over there, maybe 1.5 - 2 ft.

They gotta be in that big deep bend. I graphed it last Thur and nothing.

Got about 100 yds past that file cabinet...again no dice for my heavy bass boat. Picked up a few small crappie and lots of small whites trolling. Saw nothing on the graph.
57-61 water temps
visibility 1.5 ft
s wind 10 mph

Kisnidismis,

Im trying to figure out where you mean....I assume you mean above Caney and East Fork Split. Pine tree laydown you mean the one right there below the house on hill with all the bulkheads? How far above there is the filing cabinet as I haven’t noticed it.

river from there he caught them till his arm got to
tired he said and he said he was catching some big
ones. I watched him catch several of them. He hit
the school just right. said he was catching on sexy shad

Isn’t sexy shad a color?
Produced by Strike King, pitched by KVD and named by Mark Zona???
I think so..
