I know in a previous post I said I would wait out the heat but I figured if I started VERY early I might be able to pick up a few before and just after sunrise....hard not to go fishing. Got the boat in the water and was still dark and had an issue with the water pump. Had to wait for my mechanic to wake up so while waiting I put a couple of rods out from the boat and caught foot longs with just about every cast. Did manage 3 keepers. Got the trouble fixed around 830 and fished until 1030 picking up 3 more keepers along with another bunch of throwbacks. Morning clouds and light breeze made it tolerable out there today. Saw very few boats.

I feel the same way. I am about to lose my mind. I drove over 1960 and just looking at the water made me want to get out there. My boat is in the shop getting electrical work done, so I will definitely not be out there till late august / early September. At least you got a few in the boat.

Ha at first when i saw this picture it was showing the boat running vertical

and it looked like the side of a dumpster my eyes had not focused yet. I was

wondering why this man was showing us the side of two buildings. Did he get the wrong

picture . then i clicked on the picture and the boat turned right side up . I sure felt dumb.

it will be good to hang around the 1960 to get out of the sun . I have hung a good catfish

on my crappie jig under there once. Followed him in and out of the pylons for 30 minutes

with the troll motor he just stayed down could not get him up or slow him down finally

the hook straightened out.

Took the boat out to 1960 found out the depth finder didn't work. Had a bad fuse line. But did catch 1 little blue. Had a great time with my wife fishing.

At least you were out there and had a good time. There was a time when men and women would fish without technology and was able to bring home fish. Now we are so spoiled with technology, we forget what we were able to accomplish in the past. I am spoiled as well and act like I cant fish unless I know how deep the water is. Get that fuse fixed and get back out there.

Good Luck, Hope you do well. Hopefully you will show us some nice fish, maybe a Flathead or two. And give us another shot of that boat, maybe a side shot as well so you don't freak out Mr. Sticko.
