Hi there, New to this Forum. I just got into Catfishing about 6 months ago while I was working in Junction Tx. seems like the S Llano river cats love Cjs punch bait and the flatheads go for live bluegill, I have been fishing Duessen park for the past month with live bluegill and no luck, I have only caught 4 channels on punch bait, what bait do you guys recommend to catch at least some 4 to 6 pound cats? all bank fishing.

Thanks in Advance
Omar Ortiz

Chicken Hearts are a good bait for cats on Houston. They stay on the hook better than liver. Gizzards also work. I like to mix a little garlic powder on them and let them marinate for a bit in the sun before use. They can get ripe, but the cats don't seem to mind.
Also you may try fishing right up next to the bulkhead-like 6 inches from it. Good luck

Blasphemy!! I like my gizzards dredged in flour and deep fried.

Sticko and Weatherman have given me good advice on fishing the bulkheads when the shad spawn runs. Hopefully one of them will chime in here.
