I know she's a well known white bass fishery (a little too well known I'm afraid) but what about Crappie? I see a lot about Conroe but does anyone fish Livingston? If so, any takeaways or pointers? My dad recently bought a place up there and while Houston will be the most frequent place I go, I'm planning to venture out at some point. He's located on the southeast corner of the lake, but that doesn't necessarily mean I'm confined to that area specifically. I'm starting to scout the map and that is A LOT of water. Just looking to see what others have to say. Thanks.

you do know there is a fish consumption ban on livingston.
That being said . If you are in search of white bass they are
fairly easy to locate on livingston. The most well known place
is close to your dads home. It is called pine island. The points of
the island hold great schools of Large mouth and white bass.

Dove island in the mouth of Kickapoo also hold good numbers of
whites.

walkers lake is a good area. But if you want to get away from the
crowds just search the main river channels for bends close together
or horseshoe bends these always hold good fish.

most people troll dipesy divers or white hellbenders with a leader and
a pet spoon behind it. But i liked just dropping a slab spoon or any chrome
or white or yellow jigging spoon and jigging it for the whites.
most sandy points will hold white bass or what some call sand bass because
of that.

No sir, I was totally unaware of the consumption ban, but will definitely look into it. I know a lot of people troll the whites in May and June around the Island. I had never heard of the other areas though so thanks. What about Crappie, anything worth checking out on the south end or stay mostly up in the Kickapoo area? I'm a little thrown by the consumption situation.

I looked it up. Not going to mess with the whites but I assume the Crappie are not affected as they aren't listed. Correct me if I'm wrong, please.

I fish the creeks north of the main lake for crappie. White rock, Harmon, Caney. During the spawn, kickapoo creek and the area around the tigerville ramp can be very good in the mid lake area. That's all i got. I'm not much help on the lower end.
