I found a buddy who is available to fish with me Saturday so I intend on participating. I look forward to meeting each of you at the weigh in.

As this is new water for me I would appreciate guidance on how to navigate north and south on the east fork as well as safe passage to Luce bayou from BJs. Can someone draw me some general routes on a picture? My last attempt I kept hitting a sandbar trying to get into the main channel (safe passage according to my gps). The red x below is roughly where I kept hitting shallow water. I didn’t have long so did not try going further south.

Thanks guys.

Benfishing62, that sand bar extends quite a ways from the tip of the island.

Coming out of BJ's, when you get to the first No Wake buoy, look to your left (south) and you'll see a second No Wake buoy. Just keep following the bank until you get past that second buoy and you can turn out into the channel no issues.

you can just follow the buoy markers down that left hand side all the way into the bayou.

Change of plans gents, wife just got diagnosed with the flu. I'll be on little guy duty this weekend and won't be able to fish, but I'll probably swing by the weigh in with the munchkin. Good luck to all.

I'm not scared, I'm just a fair weather fisherman since I can go any time I want to these days. Tomorrow is going to be 70 degrees, no rain, and low wind. Easy decision there as I am not that much into competition any more.

I was there from 3:00 - 3:30 for the weigh in but didn’t see anyone else. We only managed one fish but it was decent size. 11-3/4”. I’m guessing about 1.5 lbs. BJs didn’t have a scale. Anyone else do any good?
