Looks like in April I will be moving to Modesto. I can't express just how much joy I have had in being part of this. I will still be able to fish in March 18th and will be fishing every day I can till the moving truck arrives. I grew up in Atlanta. Fished so many different lakes in different states. I will tell y'all something most probably know. Houston has the best fishing scene of any city I ever been. I was very fortunate to have lived through it. I hope yall know what a gem this place is. See y'all on the water. Don.

Hate to hear you're packing up so soon but it was good while you were here.....

We'll have to hook up before you leave & spank a few crappie for you to take with you.....

We'll take care of you're share of crappie after you're gone.....

Juss so ya know this site is connected to tha www so you will still be able to check in & share some of that catchn from over yonder.....

Smallies!! Dobby, you're in for a treat with those! Pound for pound a smallmouth fights twice as heavy as a big grass pickle does. I've caught plenty of those in Minnesota and they taste great!! (Don't tell the bass fishermen)

Not sure how they behave in those big rocky California reservoirs, but in Minnesota the best way to catch smallmouth was to find a gravely bottom adjacent to weed cover. Throw a small football jig in junebug or pumpkinseed and just barely drag it across the bottom and wait for them to suck it up.

I know you'll figure out the crappie in those reservoirs in short order, probably faster than I'll figure them out here.

Again, congratulations on the new job.

Thanks for the kind words and get me all excited about them smallies. Grass pickles thats funny hahaha. I am gonna do just that to catchem . I am gonna drift them fish all out of them reservoirs. I have found that a food slow drift works for more than crappie. But yes the those cali crapoie are doomed lol
