I reckon this is why my overheat alarm kept shutting me down. Looks like I sucked up some mud chasing jugs into shallow water.

I just got a overtemp problem taken care of and it turned out being my thermostats..... They didn't show being bad until heat was applied.....

Whenever I got above 3500 rpm it alarmed. Peehole worked just fine. Ordered a bunch of new parts. Hope to be back on the water early January.

Sound about like the problem I was having except I lost water pressure around 3k rpm and if I wasn't watching it would alarm on over temp......

you went that far might as well replace both thermostats and poppets
while you are there . If you have that much mud way up there you
can almost bet the water pump is full of sand also . and weaken the
pump impeller so if it still alarms on you that is where i would look next.
