I don't see how you couldn't be anything but good. I would hook it up and see if it squats too much. You should be well under tongue weight. For short trips I wouldn't hassle with a weight distribution hitch.
1. in case of an accident, I didn't want someone to call negligence due to being over recommended weight (without DH) by vehicle manufacturer...
2. in case of flat tire/blow out on either the tow vehicle or the trailer, the weight distribution hitch/sway control may provide additional support?
My GC has the V6, and towing capacity is slightly less than the V8 or Diesel model...
I'll hit the scales this weekend for dedicated axle weights and tongue weight.
