Couple questions for folks, looking for some feedback. First is have 95 Johnson 130 plugs in it are Champion 938M - QL78YC well not finding them anywhere around me and looking for something comparable to use maybe. Any suggestions or recommendations on what you use? Second question is what ratio on oil mixture do most use? I know they call for 50:1 but guy at the Marine shop suggest I run 40:1 instead and he is like 3rd person that has mentioned that saying with all the additives in gas now days it's better to run 40:1. I always add little extra oil cause rather foul a plug than burn a motor but don't add enough extra to make it 40:1. Looking for some opinions on above question, Thanks

I assume this is a four cylinder QL78YC is recommended
On
ALL
VRO/OMS equipped motors the "QL" supressor plug is recommended

sold at oriley's and wal mart most marine dealers handle them.

ask for marine plugs Champion 938M - QL78YC.

40:1 is 3.2 oz oil to gallon gas 19.2 oz oil for 6 gallons gas.

50:1 is 2.56 oz to gallon gas 15.36 oz oil for 6 gallons gas

i am not a professional at this but i have a 50:1 engine and i am

using 3 ounces oil per gallon of gas . it smokes a little but has not fouled

my plugs i have been running the engine since 1977 many hours a year

and it has done great.

Oreilly carries the ql78yc spark plugs. We use them often. Don't ask for the 838m. Use the ql#.
50-1 for most time in fine. Extended high rpm 40-1 is better.

Thanks guys just wanted to get other opinions -- I checked Oreily's and Autozone they didn't have them but probably could order them, didn't ask on that -- Looked on walmart's site (can't stand going there) and they didn't show them -- CarQuest shows to have them in stock in Pasadena so might drive over there or just get store over here to order them -- Been wanting to get a back up set of plugs for the Oh Shit case -- on the mixture like I mentioned I always put little extra even in the dirtbike days cause rather foul then blow up just mixing at 40 seemed little too much to me
