i love this time of the year for bank fishing
I used to go to the spill way at lake somerville
every winter when they were letting water out
of the lake.. Back then it was a long hard walk to
the waters edge. But later they built steps going down the
hill but it is still a good distance to walk and haul out a
big stringer of crappie . But the fishing is fast and furious
usually get a limit in a couple hours. Just cast in the slack
water right next to the fast current. or cast into the current
and let the jig swing out at the end of the bend. rocks are bad
so have to count the jig down and your still going to loose a few so
carry plenty. crank slow get crappie crank faster get the white bass
every now and then you may get into a monster drum that will take
all your line and tackle. not sure which spill way ken is on today
but this is about the way it goes.
