I was out near the lake houston marina on the 1960 bridge. Didn't realize that catfish was on the south end of the bridge until my motor ran out of battery. There were TONS of debris but next time I go, i'll try luces bayou for crappie. (my only means of transportation is a trolling motor 55lb thrust) It got me considerable distance but not as good as a real motor. Didn't get anything this time!

I remember tha days, I did a lots of feeshn out if a lil narrow 12' Jon with only a trolling motor...
Caught lots of feesh outta that boat, I even started taking a 2nd battery so I didn't have to worry about running out of juice.....
The bayou can be feeshed from the rooter to tha tooter with a tm & is the absolute best way to learn where the structure is & that = feesh in tha boat....
Don't think I'd tackle the main lake in it though.....

Thanks SK, I've been trying to follow posts and absolutely love freshwater fish. (I do saltwater but it isn't the same as sitting out on a boat just relaxing) Just being out there makes it worth it even though it's an hour away for me. I love crappie and catfish. I've caught catfish before but I am a complete noobie when it comes to crappie. I hear that luces has crappie and white bass. Does it also have cats as well?

an tm an it get me around pretty good

Will do just in case. Eventually, i'll get a bigger boat but as far as funds go, this will be my best option. Thanks for the advice! If you see a 15 ft jon boat with a little trolling that'll be me :) I only fish on weekdays as well to avoid the crowd.
