I put in @ daylight @ Ponderosa. Fished till 12:30pm caught 8 short blk. bass & 1 hit on a crappie jig. Caught all the bass in Luces bayou. The water temp was 72 to 78 .The water level was normal pool & fairly clear.I caught all fish fishing stumps with blue herrons close by.I went to the river & it was muddy. The fish were caught on Zoom worms & crank baits.

Thanks SK I have often wonder why nobody on here ever mentions fishing the birds.I was fishing towards this heron { I call them ole blue} on a stump when a john boat puttered by & he did not fly. I smiled to my self & I caught 6 right there by that stump & hard country fished it & caught a small crappie & lost one. Ole Blue the best fisherman on the lake.To day will be my last day on the lake this year. The bushy tails are calling next week then 3 months of hunting ole mossy back.

I didn't give it all away there is something to look for first. If you chase every bird you see on the water you are going to make a lot of water hauls.

Well isn't that something. I always associated fishing birds in the winter. But come to think of it. Birds don't eat just in the winter
