Caught the surf on Bolivar with the right conditions (been a long time!)with the seaweed letting up a little. 4 of us were able to catch our limits of trout with some Spanish mackerel sprinkled in. Water was beautiful with an offshore wind!

That just can be beat. Very nice. I remember, many years ago, taking the ferry across before dawn and fishing the bolivar beachfront on those "sweet southeast" days with winds less than 10kts and water green to the beach. Loved it when the mullet would start jumping and you knew the trout were underneath them. Yall done good.

Thanks for the kind words guy's. WM you described to a tee of why I love this type of fishing. I am more of a crappie fisherman, but I love the surf, it can be real good and real bad, been fishing it for 30+ years. The photo is of my son Jake holding our combined stringer. I am attaching an old photo from about ~15 years ago where me and 4 friends caught our limits and stringed them together. When you see the photo you will recognize I couldn't deny him even if I wanted to!

Notice how flat the surf is in the picture, most folks don't realize it gets that way at times.

It has been 30 yrs. but it was humbling to be waist deep @ the Bolivar pocket & watching that red ball rising in the east It don't get any better. The great fishing was just the icing on the cake. This is one thing a non out doors person can't understand.
