fishing started out tuff for me today the fish would not hit
the color i tore them up on day before yesterday. The little
cool front that moved in over night and the pressure drop.
had me digging through the tackle box for a new color.
the black/ truse i was using only caught about a 20 pound catfish
on the first drop of the day the line smoked my hand as the just
about emptied my little reel on the first run.. didnt have a crappie till
about and themn only a couple half hearted hits on blue/white small
12 inch fish. then went to white chart and caught a couple decent fish.
about that time a new member came by and wanted to shake my hand
said he had never done any crappie fishing with jigs but that he learned
how reading my posts and listening to sk vids. He had caught 5 nice fish
and one over 2 pounds . Then he put me onto the right color so we
learned from each other. Thanks Ray after he told me the color i started catching
good fish right away . I hope i remembered his name right as Ray T
or ray tay. not sure he works close to la porte.. I saw him pulling in
a few more as the day went on. water in the bayou is badly off color
but the east fork looked fairly clear for Houston.
also he said he caught them on some of Dutches Hand tied jigs he had bought from
Dutch . So people if you want proven fish catching jigs just buy them from Dutch.

Lot of fish over the two pound range being caught this year
seems like everyone is getting one. In years past it was rare to
see one over two pounds . Not sure what they are feeding on
might be an over abundance of shad this year but the crappie
have come back. Or someone dumped some of the stuff they
are feeding the chickens now chicken legs look big as turkey
legs now.

Sorry you could not make it out to fish with me yesterday PBR.
I went to many piles and tried a ton of bait colors before landing
on a color the fish wanted then a new member came along and
gave me a fire/ice that tore the crappie up. My wife could not
make it out yesterday and i was trying to find someone to fill
the back seat.
