My son was fishing crappie on conroe one day said he was reeling in
a crappie and a big bass ate it so he caught the 7 pound bass that
took the crappie.

because those big catfish that will strip all my line off my little jigging
spool in a short run before i can get the troll motor going that fast.

I don't know about 40lb but I do use 14lb braid so I can sling those 3lb crappie in the boat and when I get one of my $25 a piece jigs hung I can get them back.... 8) :mrgreen:
