SK...what do you call them exactly....shoe clerks? Saturday I nearly saw what I guess would be the first boat on boat accident on Lake Houston for the year. Lake was covered with boats due to the warm weather. We were riding along near the island just to the north of the entrance to Luces Bayou. What looked to be a father son "team", in a skiff boat with poling platform, was slow puttering out to middle of the channel in the lake and the dad seemed to be studying his electronics while the boat was pointed north. A bass boat was coming up the lake from 1960 at high speed headed toward the East Fork. Just as the bass boat was about to the skiff the dad turned west into the path of the bass boat. At the last moment he saw the bass boat and turned back east. If they missed by 5 or 10 feet it was a miracle. The skiff was definitely at fault for turning into the path of the bass boat but there was no damn reason for the bass boat to run that close at wide open throttle.

Wasn't me I was on Rayburn and I rarely run full throttle near skiffs, center consoles or john boats. I do pass them though at about half throttle, why waste my gas  .
