A buddy of mine and I went up and mountain biked along Caney Creek on the Ameri Trail in LHWP. Thought yall might be interested in the pics. Caney Creek was a little muddy but that was about it. Saw one boat idiling up about 2/3 of the way to Peach Creek. All of the pics are from 1/2 way between Lake Houston and Peach Creek toward Peach Creek.

Sticko,

It was but appeared to be decent channel most of the way. Prop boat it would mostly be idle but actually would be pretty easy with a decent TM. If I want to chase white bass with my jet it shouldnt be an issue. What I was suprised by was lack of logs / trees in creek itself. I figured there would be more from Harvey.

I'm confused (happens frequently), you were in LHWP on the bike trail following Peach Creek or Caney Creek? I thought that was Peach Creek that was the western border of the park and Caney Creek flowed into it about halfway from the west.
Never the less it looks pretty and I need to get in there.

Great shots, know the area well, white bass spot off and on, that split has always held them. maybe not anymore!!!

Upacreek,
The Ameri trail basically starts at the “kayak ramp” (aka sand bar) that is approxiametly 200 yards up Peach Creek from the Peach & Caney Creek merger. After the merger the trail follows the merged creek (Caney Creek) all the way down to the point where Caney Creek merges with the East Fork of the San Jacinto.

I can see how the split would hold white bass. At the ramp on Peach Creek the water is now so shallow for about 20 yards you can wade it without getting ur ankles wet. No white bass going pass there except in a flood.
