I hope so.
I "think" it is the same as your car.
I have a CHL so I believe I'm covered.

don't know what the law is in a city park . Lake Houston is a city park.

here is one for somerville : Tuesday morning, the Army Corps of Engineers put out a reminder to gun owners that despite the new law, firearms will still be prohibited from federal properties, including lakes like Lake Somerville.

To carry a pistol along with me when I fish would be like carrying my Ugly Stick along with me when I hunt deer.
Now a flare gun could be handy for shots across the bow. Naaaahhhh. Not with my temper.

Fishing LH is different than fishing Falcon Lake...
But, Sticko, SK and a few others on here are more deadly with a crappie jig... Than others are with a pistol...

I stopped the Lake Houston Police late yesterday in Luce and he said you can carry a gun, but it must be open carry. Also, if you have CHG license you can carry it concealed. But listen to this: He said it was illegal to discharge the gun. Strange to me.
I guess you can just wave it or point it at someone but don't shoot them.
Note: he had his pistol in a holster on his side.

I hear someone shooting rapid fire at times and i swear i did noting to them.

I have a friend that had one of the land owners come out and shoot over his head
for fishing to close to his boat dock. and ran him off. This was on the lower end of the lake
up in lake shadows.

I was just loading up the GoDevil for a lower Trinity River ride tomorrow and put 5 shotshell rounds in the 38 and stored it in the boat. Snake medicine.

I have a CHL and have carried on the boat, but it's probably not necessary.
