After checking my preparations for Hurricane Evacuation, we were forced to realize that even with disaster looming life goes on. The dishwasher crapped out Friday night, and my real boss made it clear when she went back to work a few years back that her dishwashing days were over.
So off we went to Lowe's in Texas City to pick one out, now remember Saturday, Dean had not even hit Jamaica yet, and the forecasters were still scatching their butts as to where it was going.
We get to Lowe's and every sheet of plywood was gone with a line formed for people to sign up/wait for the next shipment.
Now I can understand that some folks were there to buy it because they didn't have it to begin with, but to clean out the store?

Most WalMart's were cleaned out of C and D batteries and bottled water on FRIDAY! I will admit, I got up early on Saturday and trekked on over to WalMart to stock up on some essentials we were short on "just in case".

At least I still have all my plywood cut and numbered for the windows thanks to preparations for Rita. Also already had several cases of bottled water stacked up in my shop/storage bldg.
