My son and I finally put over at River Grove this afternoon. Wasn't sure if the boat would start and run well. Haven't had it in the water for over a year. Was really pleased with the way it ran, was a little worried about the gas being in for so long. I had stablizer in it, so all was good. Didn't get in the water until after 6pm. We ran all the way to the 1960 bridge. Was glad to see the mouth bar cut thru marked with buoys. Ran back to the railroad bridge at hwy 59. Water up there was like coffee with cream. Decided to make a few casts before dark and managed to boat a nice white bass. Was a very pleasant boat ride, great to be able to use the Ramp at River Grove. Plan to do more fishing now. 19ft Cobra with a 200 merc. If you see me stop and say howdy. Caught the white on a chartruse swim bait.

Now that ramp is open we plan to take some evening cruises also. I got some jumbo whites the other day on a white spinnerbait also so there is still a good population of them, but it was a slow catching year for me for the most part for them.
