Got a text about a plane crash in LH this morning around 9am just north of 1960. Can anybody verify?

Reports are that it was a glider. ?? you don't see many of those around here since it is flat and there aren't many major up currents from wind bouncing off terrain.

Any way, that report says that it has not been confirmed but the lake patrol is still searching.

A sea plane was doing a touch and go. No crash.

I drove down to the marina and talked to a KHOU film crew.
Some lady called it in but was mistaken.

:D That is good news.

Being so close to the big airport, when I hear about a plane crash around Lake Houston, my first thought is an airliner. Good that is was all just a misunderstanding.

The city should charge the plane for all the response vehicles and personnel.
They should outlaw planes on LH; too stumpy and shallow...

Pretty sure they are already outlawed by way of the city ordinance banning air boats. Still see them regularly, though.

The plane or the person that called in a false report of a crash?
