Went to Ponderosa last Wed. Ran into Sticko and Capt. Crappie at the launch. They showed me their 50 huge Crappie and sticko gave me ten. I launched my yak and went to the Bridge for a while but it was too crowded. I went on to the channel marker and started getting beeps on my Garmin. Dropped markers and anchor. Lots of fish, no bites. Changed colors several times. Finally silver/chartreuse got hits and fish on. Worked the channel a couple of hours, caught five. Went to the bridge and caught three more there. Started getting dark thirty so I went home. Great day for me, finally. I gotta come up with a better way when I’m by myself. I’m getting old and it’s showing the next day.

I am just thankful to the good Lord that we can still get out and go fishing at our age.
I think i would drill some holes through the pvc pipe and ells so they wont turn on
your trailer.
Nice catching in a short. That is the way to figure the fish out sometime it just takes
changing colors. and sizes of jig heads.

Oh yeah, forgot about that. Changed to a solid lead color. Not sure how heavy but it got down faster than the yellow head I was using. Thanks guys.
I’ve come up with a better solution than the cart. I’m redoing my trailer back to a boat trailer where I can launc like the big boys. LOL

It was great meeting you Yacknewby!!! I am just getting back to freshwater fishing and I am loving it!!! I am totally stoked when every I hear about people catching them there old "Papermouths"!!! Wishing you much success in the future!!! Also, I am finding out that those fish are picky and we have to adjust to what they want!!!

Thank you. I'm just getting back to freshwater too. Jigging is a whole new ballgame for me. Those papermouths are picky. Bard to figure out what they want sometime. Looks like you caught on quicker than I am. LOL
Great meeting you. Maybe we can fish together sometime. Keith Bodine aka, yacknewby
